The Departure Manager (DMAN) provides consistent optimised planning of the outbound traffic at airports and accordingly optimised target times at the runway and the stands. Key objectives are to efficiently manage the departure traffic at an airport, ensuring that the maximum available runway capacity is used, and that additional constraints, such as Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) requirements, are properly managed. To achieve these goals, DMAN sequences departures and generates advice for all controllers involved.

“Orthogon has delivered an excellent tool for departure management which has enabled Gatwick to run under A-CDM operational procedures. Using the DMAN, we look forward to continuing to improve our operational performance.”
Erik Einset, A-CDM55 Program Leader at Gatwick Airport
